A Bit of History
While visiting Georgia in 2005, Fran and Frank noticed a void
between the many fine dining establishments serving the city and it’s suburbs, and the abundant chains/franchises lining
the Atlanta roads. It seemed that what was lacking in Atlanta was a type of restaurant
commonly found in New York (they were residents of Westchester County)--an authentic pizzeria/trattoria. With fond memories of the pizzeria/Italian restaurant his
father owned decades earlier, Frank decided to pursue his lifelong dream of owning his own trattoria. He wanted the type of casual, neighborhood eatery where he and Fran could get to know their patrons, and
provide freshly prepared, authentic Italian comfort food in a relaxed atmosphere. They
stumbled upon the Lindberg Plaza redevelopment and were excited by the transitional nature of that area. In May, 2007 il bacio (‘the kiss”) opened its doors to a highly complimentary, supportive clientele.
Our Goal
At il bacio we pride ourselves on using the highest quality ingredients,
making each selection fresh to order, while offering generous portions at reasonable prices.
We attempt to honor special requests by having on hand items such as soy cheese, whole wheat and rice pastas, and whole
wheat pizza crust. We work hard to accommodate our customers as best we can--if
we have it and we can make it, we certainly will.
At il bacio all attire is acceptable --from flip flops to shirt
and tie, and all ages are welcome. We strive to have our customers kick back
and enjoy a stress free experience. Come for a slice, a meal, or simply dessert,
or stop by for a glass of wine or beer on our patio. Not hungry or thirsty, then
just come by and say hi!!
